Is it a turbo 1200? I'm going to do a 1200 my self its no heavier than a 1000 I'm going to get the parts together over the summer. It seems there are some tricks to building a good one. Good luck.

M1200...

I have built both a 1200 n.a.with nos. it runs very well but it is nothing like the 1200 turbo with the 174 X 3 track at 16lbs. of boost it is crazy fun...

With that kind of Power

You better have a KMOD to go with it , or you will have a sled that rides on it;s tail when climbing anything with much of a slope. My turbo was a wheelie monster , skis were always 3 feet in the air, I was out of control, then I got a kmod conversion, and it was good, then I got a 3" and it was a wheelie monster again, when Climbing I need to set the Kmod on at least a 3, it was still 1-2 feet in the air while cresting over a steep chute. then I got a 174x2.5CE with Full Kmod, now I run it on a 2 when climbing , skis come up about 0-12" but is awesome, and controllable. also I can zip down a rough trail with my Raptors, twice as fast as my buddy can on a stock m series. A very Great Combo. Sometimes I wish I had a 174x3" but am very pleased with the Current setup. FYI. i'm riding a Twisted Turbo M8 @ 10 psi on straight AVGAS. About 240HP.. A RG1200 Turbo @ 8 PSI should be about 320-340HP

1200 kits...

I have built 3 1200's using D&D kits two with nos and 1 without. they have been very reliable, make great horsepower, Big torque increase. the last 1200 i did, i just got some cyls. from twisted turbos which were custom ported and cut my own head. Works incredible...One bit of advise to you is to only use D&D pistons in any 1200...there's a reason.

Where does OP say anything about turboing the 1200??

I've run with 3 of them, around here they run with a turbo at about 8.5 psi... which is pretty good imo. They seem to be pretty consistent, and run well.

If the 1000 were still being made I'd probably have one.

my reply drifted a little off course at the end

is that ok with you BCIL.
either way a good running 1200 BB is putting out 220-230 HP. and would benefit from a KMOD to get the power to the ground.

I run a 1200.
It has lots of torque and hp, there is a big difference to a 1000.
But i had problems with my wisecos this winter, to little clearence.
It says 0,155 clearence, but its not enough.
I just bought 2 new wössner pistons, they say 0,1 clearence, but i will try 0,2.
Havent had the chance to dyno it, but next winter....

A little loose...

0.2mm = .00787".. good luck with your wossners. I hate to see someone have to hone a loose cylinder to be even looser. Like i mentioned earlier, there's a reason i use only D&D pistons. I've never honed a new cylinder and i've never stuck a 1200 piston and i did my first 1200 in 2008.

OK so I'm going to get my 1000 cylinders bored out for the 1200 now do I get the ported before plating or after? Also let's hear opinions on pistons to be use and clearances. I plant to put a 14-1 rkt head on them as well. So what do you guys have for me thanks.

Port before plating.

I'd use the D&D pistons. Most I know with good luck are running them.
