A fix it kit is the way to go with these motors... Lots of brands make them and I havnt really heard of people having issues with them. I wouldnt reccomend rebuilding with stock components unless you dont have another option

I've heard some issues with these kits where comes the spacer under the cylinder when using a turbo with it.. So I'm wondering between the kit like that or just a replace piston..

If somebody here have his own experience about this would be great to hear.

Here is my pistons driven 900miles with turbo and 1150miles total.

Stock motor, 8psi of boost most of the time and 20% avgas 80% premium mix in the tank. Running the kit with larger injectors and pcV pti box.

Stock Pistons work great. If you go with fix kit and there forged make sure you have the proper clearance as they are typically around 5 thou.

I have been running the Mtntk turbo for 2 seasons and also use their fix it kit, it is a definite must in my opinion but you must follow the break in instructions as the clearances are tight. You will also need to gap the rings properly allowing a little more for a boosted sled. I went with their piston kit because they were the pioneers of this kit and have hundreds of them out there. I pulled mine apart after 1600 miles and everything looked like new. I also adjusted my oil pump which should be done at the same time time.
