I'm putting a sidekick turbo on my Axys this year . Wondering what kind of miles I can expect on a belt.

it all depends on clutch setup just like a stock sled

keep you clutches in good condition and maintained

as to turbo belt life i got 6-700 miles out of my belt last season on my pro

one of my buddies had 1000+ on his belt last winter 16 axys 163 sidekick. but another buddy 16 axys 163 sidekick + venting could barely get a days ride out of a belt! and my 16 axys 155 sidekick + venting will do roughly 150-300 miles a belt. we have checked alignment, shims, and clean primary sheaves and blow out primary every trip. also check belt to sheave clearance regularly. Trying new secondary clutching this winter to see if i can make a belt last longer. side note we have tried cat 048 (axys doesn't like that belt very much compared to the 11-15 pro) gates carbon and oem polaris belt.

Get rid of the venting and your clutches will stay dry. Then your belt life will be much improved.

What were the results of the Gates belt vs OEM?

I ran my stock belt for 150 miles is all it lasted 100% stock 155 no venting. Added sidekick and put Around 200 miles on 048 belt. Added Tammy's vents (2CoolAirVents) and gates belt have 300 on the gates belt + boost.

We also recommend to leave the sled stock with our turbo kits. That includes the stock venting and belt. With our clutch package we have had great results. Ironically, most of our folks that have issues run a different belt or add venting.

I would make sure you don't have a sticking primary bushing. I have seen that in a few sleds that have been blowing belts. It sticks in one spot sometimes and allows the belt to spin and overheat.

How do you check for that?

Definitely not happy with our results. 2-2017 Polaris Axys's with Boondocker Sidekick. Mine is a 155 and my buddies is 163. Both blew belts today. His had 190 miles, mine had 195. Thats $1.00 per mile, which I consider crap. Using clutching recommendation from BD. Almond primary and 69g weights.

Clutches aligned properly? A lot of Axys are way out of whack.

Take the cover off and see if the moveable sheave moves freely. Should almost feel sloppy. Mine stuck the other day and it took a lot of force and wiggling to get it to move. When they are in spec you can move with one finger.
