Just getting my Silber kit installed. It's a 13 kit with the BD upgrade. I know i can run about 5PSI on Pump. But If i run a 50/50 mix or straight 100LL what am i looking at for max boost? I have read through many threads and can't find a straight answer. Seems like everyone is running low comp heads. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose?? I am going to be running stock CR. Gonna try shoot for around 8 pounds. Thats about as low as i can set the WG actuator for here without changing the actuator for a low boost version. 50/50 mix be good enough? Or should i run straight 100ll?

Play with it carefully with the mix fuel and see how it runs and slowly lower octane Till it's ideal.

I would have to say that 50/50 will run 8psi very good. I personally wouldn't go more boost then that.

I have a practically brandnew 4psi wastegate actuator for sale if ur interested. I changed to the boondockers adj model

Thanks! I actually found a thread by silber that he was running at 7psi at 1500ft with 2 gallons of avgas. Looks like about 20% 100ll is what the guy who built it runs 7 pounds with so maybe I'll start at 50/50 and try slowly lower it to 20%

Every one has a different opinion by I think a few extra gallons of good gas is a cheap insurance policy. How much will a new top end and or turbo cost compared to the additional cost per tank to run good fuel. Do the math and one burn down is more expensive than 3000 miles of trouble free riding on a 50/50 blend. I've run my sled at 1500 ft at 11 lbs but I had straight110 in it and i didnt do it for very long.If you can afford the turbo then you can afford good gas. Good luck. Turbos are a blast!

I run at 0-1500' (hm turbo) on straight 91 at 7-8psi for 4 years now trouble free and all of our customers run the same with same results (push turbo, boondockers, silber kits). It all depends on the tune you are downloading to your ECU. Intercooler is a must to me and we all run them over here(of course they all run our ECU though)

Ya i know what your saying. AVgas is cheap for me anyway. Like .50/gallon more than 91. I don't mind to buy it but sometimes i burn more than a tank in a day and stop at a fuel station. Would prefer not to carry 6 gallons of 100ll with me. If i could get away with a couple small mountain addiction cans that would give me 3 gallons extra to mix in at the pump.

Carry 3 gallons of 110 then you can blend it down if you need to. I'm sure with the right set up and tuning you can get by on 91. I'm just not willing to risk it. I also dont trust that every stations gas is as good as the next. I've just seen too many 2 strokes break down from bad gas. I only get a few trips a year so I can't afford the down time.

Update on fuel mixture.

So Boost is addicting. LOL Anyway i through 5 gallons of avgas in a full tank. So about 7 gallons premium and 5 gallons of av. Started at 7psi. Now at 10Psi at 1250 feet. Silbers reflash is fricken AMAZING. Thing runs like a stocker! Havent hit DET even once. Thinking to either pull some avgas out or turn it up to maybe 12 pounds. I believe this turbo would run straight premium without much trouble around 7 psi at my elevation. I don;t know that i would do it but i'm sure it would. I'm thinking a 70/30 mixture. 91/100LL is gonna work good for me at 1250 ft and 10PSI.

Would like to give Silber a shout out to a GREAT running kit as well.. (Kit is a 2013 turbo kit with the bullydog upgrade.) I understand you just send in your ECU for reflash now instead of the bullydog? Anyway Thanks!!

Depends on what head you are using, i use 10.2 for high boost. With stock head i will probably wont do more then 10-12 psi at sealevel. That is with only 100ll in the tank.

I am running 100ll at sea level at 5 to 7 psi. Silber kit with a boondocker fuel controller with aux injectors. I dont like pump gas bc u never know what u r getting as in how long has it been sitting in the tanks before u bought it

10lbs boost, stock head, 6000-9000 =. 100% av. No questions asked. Only a few more dollars to have complete confidence that you won't detonate. Oh and a little splash of upper cylinder lube.

Str8 100ll. Top end is a $1000 when u need to re Nikasil. An extra $10 a tank is cheap. Turbo was $6k but you wanna save money on fuel.?You choose. Half these turbo clowns on here ride like senior citizens, hence they can get away with 91 or even 50/50.
Do a little research on compression ratio and octane requirements.

BE CAREFUL!!! I know boost is addicting, but I blew mine at 12.5 psi at 1500' running the low comp head and strait 100LL. This was on the '12 kit so you might have a little more leway as far as his mapping and timing curve, but not a whole lot.

Btw, I didn't get a DET code till it blew. Long pull, skis about 6' in the air....then nothing.
