Service Honda stators are out of stock..... I was going to install a pod filter which would leave room in the airbox for a motorcycle battery. How long would you get with hand warmers roughly if the battery is only being charged once I get back to the house?

Convert wattage to amperage and then divide that into your amp hour if your battery. U wont be happy with that setup. Start looking for a Baja Designs/Eline or a factory CR500E stator. They are all the same thing. Be prepared to pay 6-800 bucks minimum. They are 200 watts amd are the only thing that works for a proper elec system. The SH stator is junk. Trust me

Why do you say there junk? I am uneasy buying a used stator... plus the eline you have to use a heavy flywheel weight right?

I ran a YTZ7S battery with both the SH and the Honda 200watt stator. The SH burned out in no time. Cheap Electrosport taiwanese junk. The Honda is two separate windings of 100watts. Reliable and not much to go wrong with them. Even if they did burn out get it rewound and good for many miles. The wires are thick. If u saw both stators side by side u would understand. Its a external stator so there is another flywheel that gets bolted to the stock wheel. My 500 has piles of torque with Adams TWIRP. Not to concerned with the extra little weight. Its the price u pay for power.

Really depends on what u wanna run off the stator. Grips and lights will need way more than the stock unit. The SH stuff is ancient. They havent made that stator for years even though SH claims its new. I met a couple other guys who burned out that stator and were selling them. I could find u one if you like.

I know a guy who has 21 CR500's. He had a few of these 200 watt factory Hondas. Said they were the only way to go for the street setups. Believe me he tried em all.

And for what its worth, him and Millar told me the same thing i just told you. I went with the SH and thankfully SH gave me all my money back ha ha.

I just got off the phone with some friends. There are two of these stators available. One is new the other used. The new one will be 1400 bucks and the used one 1000 LOL. They are getting ridiculous and rare. I saw one on ebay go for 1350. Thought i got ripped for 700 lol. JFYI

Have you thought about any cr250 ignition setups? I think you can get up to 80w stators for them. If you keep an eye out long enough you might find a cheaper external stator. I got my e-line for $125 so you could get lucky.

The older analog ones are, I think 86-95? With those you can get 60w stator, Heck I think they make might coil for those maybe you can double them up. The newer ones are digital and you have to modify the back of the stator plate a little bit. It's pretty simple mod but with those you can get 80w of power

I've got a SH I just pulled out of my 99 cr500. Decided not to go with lights and such for this build. PM me if you're interested.

Note:
The 3101-XXXX-144 part numbers are do it yourself top end kits for stock stroke engines, and consist of all the top end parts from the cylinder base gasket and up. The bore/stroke & rod length listed are what the kit was designed to. Case machining clearance for the cylinder sleeve is needed, also a larger exhaust connector flange or a custom built pipe will be needed. The coolant hose routing and fittings are relocated on the head and cylinder.

The RPM-XXXXX-144 #'S have crankshaft stroke changes that will need to be done to your crankshaft, and case machining is required for rod swing and cylinder sleeve clearance. Cylinders are also available without Nikasil, so that porting can be done before the coating process if desired. If ordered this way, the customer will be responsible for having the Nikasil process completed.
The prices for the (RPM-) kits include crankshaft stroking & balancing, new connecting rod kit, case machining & the Liger top end kit. You will need to send us your bare cases (no bearings) and your crankshaft. The processing time for this job is 8-10 weeks.

I'd be careful with the Liger. Call Millar and talk to him about it.

I would agree the custom parts in the kit is what scared me the most... I think big bores in most applications always have more up keep. .. what I have found is the don't Rev up as quick in most applications.
