I ran my 13' Pro 155x2.4 (Indydan motor & TKI belt drive) against my 12' Cat Proclimb 162x2.6 and it killed my Pro. Same day, Same hill, same snow, same rider, within just 2-3 HP of each other and my pro being 40lbs lighter. Tried 3 times to get out on my pro, no luck. First pull on my cat over the top with the skis in the air the whole time.

Realizing my pro needs more traction, My question is has anyone ran a 156x3" against a 162x2.6 (or 163 for that matter) are they comparable? Taller lug shorter track vs shorter lug longer track.

Thanks in advance

I ran a 156 X3 the last couple years on a Pro and am now on a 163 2.6 Axys. Never in a million years would I go back to the 156 X3. X3 gets great traction, but therefore it trenches more. If you're trenching, you're not climbing. 2.6 floats awesome and gets decent traction. That combo gives you more ground speed.

I have a 15 pro with a 156x3 plus a fit kit and some clutching work. My sled is neck and neck with my buddies 16 cat 162x3. Nowhere he can go that I cant. What I lack in HP he lacks in belt drive and weight. Not surprised your 2.4 gets destroyed by the 162. Lug depth is a crazy difference. I can out climb my brothers stock pro with a 162 x 2.5. As for trenching is it a little worse, yes. But if you set up your suspension correctly and know how to stay further ahead on the running boards its a non issue

Did you optimize your clutching after installing the TKI belt and gears? If not, you are leaving a lot of performance on the table.

I like the 800 Suzuki and the 2.6 powerclaw, but I would not expect a well set up Pro to doing anything but hang with or be ahead of the Cat.

Good sleddin.
