anybody running a battery for gps ect? i have a 2010 m8 and just bought the dc power kit. i would like to see how some of you mounted the battery and how you wired it ect.

Backup alarm have DC....pretty sure....i'll go check the wiring diagram....;D

According to the wiring diagram, RED/BLUE is DC power.

would i need a diode to stop the back feed going back into the system?

Mine's was installed 3 years ago. I just bought the Garmin wiring with fuse on it and hooked up directly and never had any problems or blown fuses.

I have a small 12v battery on my sled for the recall tach so I can replay a run while the sled is off. I mounted it above the left shock tower area, I have a foam bad underneath it and used zipties with holes drilled through the plastic. Here's a decent pic of it.
