Camping in Snowy Range

A group of use form CO are heading up to the Snowies to camp for 4th of July weekend. Was just wondering if anyone knows any nice places to camp?

Looking for something outside a campground as we tend to get a bit loud. also needs to be 4wd accessible . No hiking in.


Any info would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure how much snow is left up there, but I've car camped on the west side of the Snowies before. Drove in, secluded, little fire ring already there, plenty of room for tents or even a smaller trailer. They're dotted throughout the area, half our fun was bouncing around in the truck to find a spot. We were somewhere off FS101 IIRC.

There's a nice spot right on French creek road where the road crosses over the water, real easy to get to.
