Where is a good place to store a shovel on an 08 M8 while out riding? It has one of the newer Cat mtn seats on it.

I have the 10-11 shorty seat and my shovel just about fits in the compartment. I'm just going to notch out two little cuts in the plastic and it will slide right in.

Back pack! I will not ride with someone that does not have a beacon, prove and shovel on them! How are they going to save me if they don't have the safety equipment?!?!?!

Curious to why you needed them in you pack in MI? Avalanche?

I carry 2. I have an ABS pack and don't want to have to remove My pack when I am stuck on a hill to get sled unstuck just in case avi happens.

I have a m8 162 so plenty of room. I have a Snow Bungee Cargo net and just keep it under that.

We do get some deep snow from lake effect snow alone Superior. It's not like the amount in the mountains but a shovel is a nice tool to have.

If you're riding in Michigan, you would be safe carrying it on your sled. This is a nice solution for carrying it http://store.arcticcat.com/product/451608/6639-782/_/Shovel_Pack

but riding in the mountains, a shovel on your sled does you no good if your sled gets buried, or you get separated from it. ride with it on you at all times.
