Avy death, Togwotee

Arrived at Lava Mtn Lodge late last night for a few days of riding with Cameron (3C). There was talk at the bar of an avy death earlier in the day.

I was researching avy conditions this morning and came across this (http://www.jhavalanche.org/viewOther?area=tog):

"Yesterday a 26-year-old snowmobiler from Iowa died when an avalanche carried him into a tree that was reported to have occurred 1.5 miles east of Togwotee Mountain Lodge."

RIP.

Conditions are ripe for slides. Be extremely careful out there.

This does not surprise me. We were up in that area last Sunday and everything was sliding every aspect even low angels.

It was raining and snow last weekend in Jackson and that adds a lot of weight to a weak snow pack.

Prayers to the family. Sorry to see this happen to anyone.
