2014/15 Snowy Range snow conditions

Hard, set up, hero snow at it's best. Went over the weekend and had to search deep and dark to find anything remotely fresh or soft. Pretty disappointed considering all the Albany posts and pics from earlier in the week. Can't believe how fast that storm set up!

We rode Friday, Saturday and had a great time. Sure it wasn't the powder we hoped to find but there was good untracked snow to be found. The great weather made the trip worth it. I'll be back after another good storm. It just amazes me how there can be 1000 trucks in the parking lot and we hardly see anyone or even many tracks in the areas we like to play in, but then again it's no where near a trail.:face-icon-small-hap
We we're up Saturday and Sunday. Had the same experience you did. A lot of fun to be had!!! Drainages weren't powder but were soft and deep... We had a great time...

I'll add to snowmow's review. There was definitely decent snow to be found in the trees. Along with some dirty slush down below....

Just one little dead one.
Saturday and Sunday as well here. Powder was scarce but there if you were willing to go find it. Fire trails lead to many little honey holes with some powder. Nothing epic, but fun none the less.

Snow was great on Wednesday/Thursday. We rode 4 days and hardly seen a soul.

Group of 6 looking to head out from Iowa Feb. 18th planning on staying till the 21st at the Old Corral in Centennial. Looking to see what the snows like now and if anyone's get a decent weather outlook up until then? All I have heard and been seeing on the WeatherBug app is warmer temps and windy and not much snow recent. Was told from a buddy that its raining in California like crazy causing floods and its supposed to make its way to the mountains and drop some snow.... and word on whether that's in the talks for the weather or not. If it don't snow much and cool down is it worth the drive from Iowa?

Sounds about right on warm and no precip. But things can change out there fast. Get out of town before the weekend. Its crazy ski weekend. But that can be fun at times:face-icon-small-sho

I haven't been up to the mountain since Saturday, but down here in Laramie the short skirts have been coming out on campus. (Sorry no pics :face-icon-small-ton). Must be about May now right?
