Are you still doing the Oct 16th class in Rexburg that is listed on the ski-doo website? Thanks Eric

OK, I seen your other post now. Looks like you offer two versions of the free BRP classes. Does one need to be taken before the other? Can you list the main difference between the two? Thanks

I will be in Rexburg on the 16th.

You don't have to take one class before the other, but the "Awareness, Avoidance and Rescue" should be taken first. Avalanche Rescue Skills is a step up and people should have basic knowledge of beacon use or have read the directions on the beacon.

BRP class descriptions 2014

“Avalanche Awareness, Avoidance and Rescue” Updated and revised presentation. Learn how to avoid deadly mistakes, what equipment works best, human factors in avalanche accidents, how to rescue effectively, increase your chances of surviving an avalanche, evaluate terrain, avoid terrain traps, recognize trigger points, analyze stability and increase your survival skills.

“Avalanche Rescue Skills” New classroom session with hands-on, demonstrations, Powerpoint and video. This is the next step in classroom education. Emphasis is on avalanche transceivers and rescue techniques. Class will start with a quick review on avalanche accidents and reading avalanche reports. Will progress to more advanced avalanche rescue techniques. Students are encouraged to bring their avalanche gear to class (beacon, shovel, probe, pack).

Not sure why no Minneapolis class. Plenty of other locations. I will be doing private classes in Delano, Monticello, Cannon Falls and Sauk Centre. Will be posted on avlanche1.com next week. Mike
