Hey guys, here's a couple of shots from today. It's looking like a foot of fresh powder will be falling in Alpine tomorrow.

Another round of snow this last 48 hours. Here at the cabins we woke to 2-3" Friday morning, followed by a rain/snow mix Friday night with a few hours of rain, turning back to snow and putting down another couple inches on top of that. In all about 4-5" of wet heavy snow in the valley in 48 hours. Snotels are showing 1 foot plus up high. Willow creek is now 69" and Blind Bull 58". Most of the snotel sites in the area are 90-100% of the 30 year average. Targhee ski resort is reporting 20" in the last 48 hours and Jackson Hole resort 19". This should freshen up what was already great riding.

Shout out to Rob and Rockin M !

We did not stay there, but I rented sleds. Rob was outstanding with service renting and delivering sleds. Had one break down at the station putting fuel in one evening (bad key) called him, he responded fast, picked the sled up and delivered me back to flying saddle to my cabin. Next morning the fixed sled was sitting outside waiting when I woke up. He also took back a 600 146" when I was looking for a 154" with no charge. I miss understood what track length I was getting.
HIS SERVICE AND UNDERSTANDING WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!
When it comes to renting, he is the man.
Rob, Thank you for everything!

February 15, 2016 Alpine Wyoming Snow Report Rockin' M Ranch

February 15, 2016 Alpine Wyoming Snow Report Rockin' M Ranch
This last storm is what has been typical in this area from the last couple of winters. I was hoping we were done with these warm storms. Yesterday we woke up to 3" of new snow here at the cabins. My renters from yesterday said there was about 6" of new up high. Today it has rained in the valley and appears that the snow line is around 7500, It was about 6500 this morning. The good news is, the snowpack continues to builds up high, and with a little climb in elevation, decent snow should be not too hard to find. The bad news is, the snow down low is probably going to be wet, heavy, concrete type crap until it cools off and snows again. Warm 40 degree weather in the forecast for a couple of days and then more snow on Thursday and Saturday with cooler temps. In the big picture of the winter, we still have 3 feet plus on the valley floor, twice as much as last winter. Still a lot of winter and good riding left!!

Big Thanks to Rockin' M

My wife and I rented a couples cabin from Rockin' M this weekend for 3 nights. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations: the cabin has beautiful wood features, new appliances, excellent heating, and was immaculately clean. The trailer parking was also super easy, which is sometimes hard to find for a 4-place. The hot tub was a definite plus. If any of you are planning a trip to Alpine and looking for a place to stay, definitely check out Rockin' M Ranch. It was our first time to Alpine and we will certainly be coming back, and staying at Rockin' M if available.

The snow conditions seemed to line up perfectly with what Rob has been posting. It was raining today in town when we left today, but we found some pretty epic untouched powder yesterday up Squaw. I really liked the terrain, but ya Alpine could use some more snow at lower elevations. We also made it up to Blind Bull on Saturday, it had a great base, but almost all tracked up. I bet you could still find some fresh in the trees at higher elevations, but it might be pretty sparse by next weekend if they don't get anymore snow.

calling for a couple inches in the next day or so, then sunny and warm for the next week. I rode yesterday about 40 miles north of alpine, plenty of snow but all the creeks are blown open and flowing a bunch. We had a few inches of fresh snow on a very hard pack, icy, wind blown base. Sure is looking like a very early spring. Eric

Rockin' M Snow Report

March 2nd, 2016 Rockin' M Ranch Snow Report Alpine, WY
It's the first week of March and the weather for the last few weeks has been a bit more similar to we are used to in the middle of March. Most daytime temps have been in the 30's and the forecast is for few 40+ days this week. The good news is the snowpack over all is in good shape. Currently Blind Bull is 62" and 108% of the thirty year average. Willow 66" 96%. South End (Afton) 67" and 105%. In general spring riding is here and not likely going to leave. My renters claimed they found over the bumper powder two days ago at Blind Bull in the treed areas. Expect hard spring snow down low and a good chance to find some softer snow/powder if you time the storms right or get high enough on the right aspects. The next storm is predicted next Sunday. Rain in the valley, snow in the mountains. There is currently 1-2' of snow on the valley floor. Most roads are melted out. Riding around the Valley is possible but some pavement and gravel is going to be encountered around the gas pumps and road crossings. I would recommend trailering to the trail heads.

Dust on crust. Got into the mid 40's last weekend. Picked up a couple inches today. Friday is calling for sunshine and mid 40's (even at 8500ft), chance of snow in the forecast after that each day with the best chance for mountain snow on sunday. Eric

A series of springs storms have come through the last week. The valley has not received much but some rain and a few inches of wet slop. The riding along the lower trail systems is slush and ice, but still plenty of snow to get to the high country. Snotel sites are showing 12-14" over the last week, although reports from many people claim more than that. The higher the better.

March 16, 2016 Alpine, Wyoming Snow Report Rockin' M

Holy $h!t!! Every now and then the stars line up just right and Alpine gets pounded. I leave my house at 11:00 a.m. to go to Idaho Falls. A few flakes and some rain in Idaho. I drive back about 10:00 p.m. this evening, maybe 4-6 inches of new around Palisades. Get close to Alpine and notice everyones' car with a substantial amount of snow. Get to the cabins at the Rockin' M, and I measured 14" of snow in my driveway and on my truck and still snowing. I thought the good riding was done. The next two or three days are going to be incredible. Snotel sites are showing 18-20" of new snow on the stick in the last week (Blindbull and Willow), which after settling probably means 2-3 feet of new in many locations.
