Gets closed during storms (yesterday) but it's a good highway and we take it to Laramie often. We've actually found that if you are going all the way through Ft Collins either way, it's a little faster for us to stick to I-25 and I-80. Longer distance but you make good time. Sometimes getting through FT Collins takes a bit.

it's a good road and better in wyoming, they expanded a decent stretch to 4 lanes which has helped a ton. Use to drive i25 every day to cheyenne, so if I never drive that road again it'll be too soon. Far prefer 287 and you can take the owl canyon cutoff or if you don't want dirt roads you can take mtn vista to country club and end up at 287 just north of fort collins. depending on the time of day, hwy 14 is pretty quick too.

Only problem I have is you can see laramie for what seems like forever before you finally stroll into town.
