Are you going with smaller drivers?

You'll only have about 1/8" clearance with 8T drivers. Technically it will fit, but you're performance will suffer dramatically vs if you had more clearance

Definitely will go to the 7 tooth then. Thanks

That's my plan as well. I don't want to run smaller drivers, but I more so don't want to do a drop+roll or trim the lugs down.
7T is the best compromise to run what should be the best track out there

?

Are all the 7 tooth drivers NOT ROUND?

Meaning between "nubs" why are they flattened, or squared??

Does this not create unwanted vibration?

I'm not sure, but the new Polaris drivers are flat now as well so there must be something to it.

Yup I picked it up at the dealer last week along with 7 tooth extrovert drivers and anti stab to be safe

pics??

why did you go extrovert drivers opposed to running a 7 tooth center driver??
I am on the verge of ordering, but think I will go with center drivers. I don't want to trim rails

thx

I'll get pics and weigh it when I get back home. Did extroverts as a personal preference. Don't know whether its truely better or worse.

What pitch are your drivers?
If they are 3.0 pitch, those 7t drivers will gear you down from about 2.09 to about 2.27. That's a bonus.

Beware that your clutching won't perform exactly the same now.
You'll rev quicker.
The faster you go, the more your speedo will be off.
When it says 40mph, you're more actually like 43.5mph.

Good to clarify...the POLARIS 2.6" track is 2.86" pitch. Yes.

I don't have the numbers in front of me of how that changes the gearing. BUT, it DOES gear it down going from 8t to 7t.

I think maybe MountainHorse had a thread on track pitch and gearing ratios from this spring.

8t to 7t is a 12.5% gear reduction with no change in pitch.

More track/driver pitch would actually gear it slightly higher (e.g., a same tooth count driver will be slightly larger in diameter).

so switching to 7t drivers effectively gears down the sled to 2.35. :face-icon-small-sho
