Just a suggestion...
Put an ad up in swap meet offering to trade 38" a-arms, tie rods & shocks for HCR front end - someone might bite

HCR is wider than 40
If you want 40 I think you will also need shocks

I've got a set of black 40" arms and the shocks off my 2012. I narrowed to 38" and changed shocks. PM me if your interested in a trade. Could always use a spare set.

I have a set of Highcountry A-Arms and shocks I am trying to trade for a 38" setup.
you may as well try riding it or even just put the skis on the widest setting for now!
What he said. For the inch your going to gain its not going to be that big of a difference.

i dont think finding a 40" set will be hard at all, everybody with a '12 is looking to sell there 40'' kit because they already bought the 38" or trying to find somebody to trade with. i am one of them lol. i have a 40" kit that i would pay to trade for a 38"!

Or throw a set of dual runner skis on it like Simmons, presuming you want the wider stance for trails anyway and widen your 39" stance to about 45" effective ski stance on hard pack.

Have 42" and Fox Evols. Will trade you straight across for your 38's and shocks. They are green.:face-icon-small-ton
