It has snowed a bit since this pic and it looks like more snow tonite and saturday. This was tuesday and hard pack with about 4" of new and some sunshine. Looking forward to some new pics from this weekend, maybe the clutched guys will post some good shots...:face-icon-small-coo
Got a fairly early start today and rode from kapka to moon area with lots of tree riding to get there. Tumalo was fun to get to and the face had ice about 3/4 of the way up. Moon area is fairly windblown with pockets of quicksand out in the flats below the winddrifts. Trail below tumalo back to kapka was blown out by 2 pm......:face-icon-small-coo
We just got an email from the USFS in that area. They are starting to shut down trails from the snow parks since there is hardly any snow to protect the resources (the rocks). Unless we get snow between now and next weekend, I would reconsider.
Last I heard the USFS had a cease and desist order (my words) since the snow leaving the parks was gone and they were concerned about resource damage. It has been extremely warm and wet so Dutchman may not be passable at this time.
Looks a He!! of a lot better than up in WA right now! Think it will stick around until next weekend? Have a 4 day trip planned, and wanna know what to expect
