I just ordered an X3 from TracksUSA last week and went with the standard drivers that drive from the track clip holes. I've been warned that the center driver has a tendancy to ice up on sticky snow days.

Keep in mind, if you go with the standard drivers, you'll need an anti-stab kit and will have to trim the tips of your rails.

I hear ya that it's less work and less expensive to go center drive, but trimming your rails to add an anti-stab is about as difficult as buttering a piece of toast. I prefer not having to worry about iceup and ratcheting.

With Avids solid design I don't see how ice build up is of concern any more than with the standard style
