I am currently working on a couple builds for folks. The FWD Motion / Eric Gorr 295 kit in the 250 is wicked strong. 55 to 57 HP. With the details that go along with It, It will be awesome. With a bike that barely weighs 200lbs and 55hp. Don't take short cuts or skimp on the details.

yes,

a local bozeman guy, Cameron Weaver, but as far as im aware his has a 300 top end on it. Not sure if its the bike that allowed it to happen or just him. Hes an animal with wheels or a track on so will make stuff go where it needs to.

MTN-DOO what Powerband choice are you going with? I have a KX250 and will be running his kit as well. I'm having a difficult time deciding which one to choose, since i will be using the bike for both snow and MX. I will also be running a FMF Fatty and hopefully a smart carb. The Bike will be ridden mostly in MN, with 1 to 2 trips out west a year.

chiddles, I am in MN too, last year I ran a 250 smoker and it was still one of my favorite bikes for ripping around here. it came from a buddy out west, he still tells me it was his favorite bike and he wishes he still had it! it was a 99yz250 i believe

The Forward Motion / Eric Gorr 295 kit. Mid range to High. You will regret a low end engine and an fmf gnarly type of combo unless you only turn the throttle 1/8 to 1/2. Outdoor moto and especially snowbikes, mid / high is killer. The fmf fatty with the power core - 2 is excellent. Do not put the shorty on the fatty. Use the longer powercore - 2.

I've ridden with Cameron, I believe it is a stock YZ250 with a Stock PWK Carb. Grip warmers on the slide for heat. It works very well.

yz 250

I have a wr450 and a yz250 both 136" 1.75 on the yz 2" on the wr.
wr stock motor with tweaked exhaust
yz tweaked motor tweaked exhaust, everyone has one faster than this one

I went for a low end mid range 250, has lots of top end stock and I added a little.

My yz and toms Ktm 250 will saw off stock 450's in a straight up climb.
This winter in the deep fluff climbing ridges tight in the trees and exploring I went back to my wr. Power issue, wr450 more better easier to ride, faster back down the road to the truck. Lite flickable 250 wheelies in the powder, too much flick not enough slog. Never thought I'd say that, good woods going taint necessarily good snow going. A warmed up 250 2 stroke just isn't a 500 2 stroke, wish it was, but not. big bore 2 stoke mods generally not impressive, study up on that. for me, I'm probably still looking for a 2 stroke with coverage. Like to be proven wrong on this.
I believe in 2 strokes, still looking for a snow bike 2 stroke for me.

How/where are you getting your info. on big bores?

Would take a heck of a lot to convince me anything from Eric Gorr is anything but perfection.

Eric did my KTM 380 jug, and it's good for some grins.:face-icon-small-hap

MTN-Doo thanks for the info. It's good to here the 2 smokers are ripping it up. just sold the KX450 and going back to the 2 smoker. Just can't beat the simplicity and fun factory of them. Just gas and go.

Tomk it's Chad. Chiddles is a nickname. We have to hook up again this summer so i can take a look at the new kit.

Where can you get a 380 kit for a 300?

ktm made a 380, I tried one as a snowbike, it was the exc model, the wide ratio tranny made it suck. I'm pretty sure you can buy the 380 topend and install it on some 300's. It was like a 2001 era, I dont think it would work on a newer 300 bottom end though. They might have made a 380 sx back in the day with close ratio trans.

I started with a 380, so couldn't give you an answer without doing lots of homework.

Think Eric only kicks the 300 up to 310, so appearing it's whole deferent jug.

Don't know if a 380 jug will fit the 300 cases, but that would be a good thing to find out?

mxc is the best one! the 4 stroke version (520cc) is a close ratio 6 speed made for desert racing I have a friend who runs one on snow it is a beast! I would think the 2 stroke mxc is a close ratio 5 or 6 speed but not sure.

99% sure my MXC is 5 speed, so woods machine, instead of desert. Haven't been on it this spring yet.

In the sand with paddles, it has destroyed any quad i've ever came across, 2 or 4 stroke.
