I have recieved confirmation of a new Carbon Fiber PRO hood coming to the market this year. It is smooth (so no snow retention), higher than the stock hood (does not dip down where the stock vents are), ventless, headlight less, smooth clean lines.

I have asked the vendor for more info. Price, weight, etc. and permission to post pics. I will update this when I get permission / more info.

They have not finalized pricing. I do have a photo or two but he has not given permission to post them. He has been hooked up like a show pony on his new snow bike project and they relocated the warehouse to Edmonton over the summer. I'll send him the thread link and maybe he can post the info directly, when he has a few minutes to spare.

So what is it that is so heavy in/on the stock hoods? Is it the headlight assembly or the plenum? Hardly seems like the actual hood piece itself would weigh much. I'm always amazed, and bothered, at how heavy the whole thing feels when I remove it. Would love to shed a few pounds there.

Most people could lose 10 - 20 pounds by just going on a diet and getting in shape at the same time. This would make their wallet happy in 2 ways. . . not having to buy lightweight "mods", AND eating (buying) less food. What a concept!! LMAO!

Those are some very nice looking carbon fiber parts.
Is this company going to be expanding it's sled product line?
I'm betting there's going to be lots of guys looking for AXYS carbon fiber hoods and side panels next year
