Finished up my M7 I purchased last spring at least for now. I upgraded from a 600 Mountain Cat 144. Painted the a-arms and grey painted suspension skid parts. I bought The sled with SLP twins installed but also came with stock exhaust. I added or upgraded the following:
10.4 Secondary with shift assist
Custom cut short windshield
2 wheel kit
4.5 inch rail extension
Swapped out the 153x2.25 A20 to 162x2.6 powerclaw

Nice job. Might as well get rid of the snow flap. The track will destroy it anyway. Look for a newer shorty seat too.

Looks sweet! Love the M7s. Agree on the shorty Cat seat. Don't bother with the aftermarket seats IMO the OE 2010/2011 seats a re the most comfortable and best bang for the buck. Huge zippered storage, look cooler than the couch on the older Ms and they are night and day better riding position when you're sitting down.

FYI, if you went from a 153 to a 162 without extending the tunnel, the track will grab at the rear when the suspension bottoms out. Thought I could get away with it on my M7, but it only took one ride out to determine it needed to be extended too.

Not saying this just because I have an extension in the swapmeet, but if you decide to extend it: http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=416847

Thanks for the tips. I was hoping I could get away with not adding a tunnel extension. I extended a Mountain Cat from 136 to 144 with no issues with the original tunnel. If I add a tunnel extension the M7 will not fit in the shed anymore. I did add vented side panels I found at Haydays and a boondocker control box. The previous owner was running the SLP twins without a control box. I feel more comfortable running the twins with a control box. If the twins do not work or I do not like them I do have the stock exhaust to fall back on.
