General thoughts about the performance:

Here's mine 2007 m8 153 slp pipe and boondockers box
altitude 4500'-7,000'
mtx 71 with 3g steal rivets in both hole's
stock 36 helix and orange spring
stock yellow white primary

After installing another 3g rivet in my mtx weights the sled pulls alot harder.I revving and holding 8050rpm. I think I need a little more helix now. Anyone running a straight 40?

2008 M8 , Slp pipe y pipe and can, air intake, Mtx weights 68g with 2 g in the heel 1g in the tip, team ind. Black green spring, Stock setup in secondary with rock rollers and a shift assist. Runs 8050 on the road and 7900 in the deep powder i am going to try a speedwerx black green secondary spring in the secondary to try and help the backshift a little. stock orange is 175-280 and the speedwerx is a 195 -300. Also have a powerclaw track on the sled 162 along with a boss seat and fox floats up front.

162 Powerclaw track
SLP pipe and intake no fuel box
Ride 7-10K
69.5G speedwerx light tip weights
SLP 140/340 Blue/Pink primary spring
Runs 8100 at 7000ft down the road and turns 7900-8000 in a climb at 9000ft.
My secondary is completely stock with orange spring and straight 36 helix
I am seeing 42-45mph track speed climbing at 9500ft.
I weight 220lbs
Performance is great, clutch heat is not bad and no black marks on clutches after 300 miles.

TEAM Yellow (120/340)
42/36 progressive BDX
Snopro Green torsion spring
Stock belt

I don't claim this is the best setup, but I am happy with how it runs

BACKSHIFT IS GREAT! Awesome setup for boondocking. Makes the sled feel so much snappier!

RPM snaps right to 7700-7800. Sometimes will pull up to almost 8000 RPM in hardpack.

Holds 7700-7800 on a climb every time.

Trackspeed seems good in the low 40s. 40-43 or so depending on conditions.

I almost think I could load it a little harder with more helix on the finish. Maybe 42/38, or 40/36 or 38/36 or 40/38 might work better. Hard to say without testing them all.

Also, I wouldn't mind a little higher engagement, like 140/340 or so. Engagement is around 3600 and seems a tad low.

Belt heat seems low. I can always touch the belt without it hurting. Primary seems to get hot to the touch though.

Here is mine
2009 m8le 153
rider weight is 200
primary clutch is 70 gr a/c weights& speedwerx Ti spring same rate as a/c orange white
secondary is stock
speedwerx Y pipe and jaws can
pulls 7800 7900 but havent had any deep snow since reclutch and y pipe to test
this is at 6-10k
Whne sled was completely stock it would not pull over 7500 in the deep snow and primary clutch was scorching hot and secondary was only warm. Now both clutches fell about the same to the touch after a long pull.

"09 153 HCR, SLP pipe combo, clean up and matched, boony box adding fuel in middle and off on top.

3000 engagement 8000ish (instant) peak on hard and in deep when pipe is hot.

AC gold, Dalton 74-81 range Adjustables at 76.6 gr at tip (4500 to 6000') and 76 at 5500 to 7000`(interior BC ranges for me)

D&D tortional conversion modded to use with E-reverse, D&D purple twisted about140 degrees, Dalton 40 36 straight.

Hard to keep front end down when crossing tracks. Track speed builds `till I can`t watch it any more ( can only watch it till around 50, which happens quick, on that little thing, getting old eh LOL). Would still like to try a straight 36 or 34 36 and back off the spring a notch or 2.

Yes I've had to add 90 thousands worth of shims behind my secondary on my 09 M8 to bring it into alignment. I also had to set the toe on my sled. Was not inpressed with my dealer once I got it home. I even asked before I left the dealer if those things were set and they reassured me they were. So far my setup is stock for riding 5 to 8k. I'm watching these threads to see what everbody is using before I spend my money.

2007 M8 Sno Pro - 153

I ride from sea level to 5000ft.

SLP full exhaust
SLP Intake
Primary-- 74G MTX w/ 3g tips, 2g heel -- Reshimed for MTX weights
SEC- BDX 46/36P, Orange Cat Spring, Shift Assist, Rox Rollers
Sled pulls 8070rpm at 3000ft in the deep.

BD Box -- At 3000 ft and above I add litttle fuel to the top end. At sea level, I keep a little fuel on the top and also ADD on the bottom. Yes ADD!! Without adding fuel, It tickles the pipe sensor.

Frogskin vent covers
AMP 4 inch riser
Billet brake, gas cap, rope handle. -- increases the HP!
Vents
Skid plates
Fox float covers

The sled is much improved over stock. It runs strong with no bog! :)I saw a thread on here on BD box location. I can't find it now, but I attached a pic of mine. I just made a plate out of 22 gauge sheet alum. Seems to work well.

The sled is much improved over stock. Very responsive with really no bog.

065 belt
42/36 bdx helix
orange secondary spring shift assist, adjuster 1 turn in

Ran basiclly the same before the 55/65 gearing just more secondary spring pressure. With the lower gearing you can back way off on secondary spring pressure and get faster upshift and back shift. This thing launch's brutally hard on trails and any hard snow.........basiclly Pclaw track and gearing.

AC gold spring in the primary
Stock helix
Stock secondary spring (no shift assist)
Original factory installed -046 belt with 900+ miles

Bumping up the weight in the primary really helped wake up the bottom end. The gold primary spring makes for a really nice low rpm smooth engagement for no trenching - Just "tractor" away! Will be going to 80g next trip to the UP.

If you are holding 8050 in a climb I wouldnt touch a thing. That rpm is right on the money in my expirence.

The stock 0-6000 helix in my 2010 crossfire is a straight 40. I'm going to try it at home (2000') first. And when i go west I'm going to try it but bring a straight 36 with me just in case. It seems like alot of guys use the straight 36 at altitude.
