I use John Deere low-viscosity Hy-Gard trans/hydraulic oil. I don't have a lot of miles on it yet, but so far so good. Running it in two DDs without problems.

Here is some info on it:

Redline Superlite Shockproof gear oil. Thats what Racin Station will tell you. I followed his advice recently. 4 rides - so far so good.

Why not run the black diamond DD oil its cheeper than the cat oil and it has more than enough in a jug to do a oil change and spill a bit. I have 10000 miles on it no problem. It used to even come with a o-ring for the fill plug Im not sure why it dosen't any more.

So if its Sunday and I can't get any Cat oil, you guys think my DD will hold up for one ride using regular old 75W90 synthetic gear oil? It's all we had available :(

A lot of guys are using 75w90 and love it too. I wouldn't be concerned for a ride or two even if you switch to something else.
