i think the word your looking for is ``USED`` :)

Used or not, this is a total BS problem. I have less than 800 miles on my 2010, and it took out 2 weights, a primary, 2 big holes in my belly pan, and my belt cover looks like I shot it with my 12 gauge!!! :frusty:

on my 2010 m8 I cant get 500 km on the cat black spring and im onto my 3rd primary and second secondary in just over 2500km... cat builds a great sled that realy works and lasts but they have no clue about clutchs.... and my old m7 went through clutches just the same....
I think they just cant handle the on and off again throtle that the tree riding calls for....
go with the p 85 and be done with the messing around

baught a new 2010 hcr two years ago. rode it 80 miles. broke a clutch spring. another clutch spring at 140 miles. dealer kept saying bad springs. so after another spring i took it apart for my self. well it seems that when the bushing is out of a clutch they dont dont slide evenly.so new clutch under warantiiiii. ran great till 1800 miles on sled.. that clutch broke in half. it broke where the threads stop where the spider spins on. so here im on a 3rd clutch

My spider cracked a week ago at 1500 miles. 2010 M8 stock. Coming down the mountain revs were higher than normal and I could feel a vibration that was getting worse. One leg of the helix was busted off too!

Phoned dealer in Sicamous from the truck and they had parts in stock. They were good enough to loan me the tools to swap the primary in the lot and I did the rest later. $900 and a late evening I was riding the next day.

i put a new primary on my m1 the start of the season and i noticed with just under 300 miles the jam nut was flopping around on the shaft. it sure doesnt look like they are using enough locktite. i wonder if that the problem. not enough loctite and the spider keeps tightening up till it cracks? dont know.

Broke my spider this last weekend. Was pulling a small hill WOT and heard a metallic noise from under the hood. Then it seemed like it was running on one cylinder. Pulled over, checked it out, spider was broke and the belt was riding low in the clutches. That's why the sled was bogging so bad.

My sled had 80 hours, not sure of the kms. Wasn't a catastrophic failure at least.

Doing Pre-Season maintenance on a bunch of sleds with my buddies went through 3 2010 M8' snopro's over the weekend a 162 with 1350 miles a 162 with 900 miles and a 153 limited black with 670 miles all the spiders were in good shape............so far. Definelty will be keeping an eye on them over the winter especially the two 162's as they are reaching what seems like the "golden milage" mark for the spider to let go.

It sucks that they make the spider damn near a permanent fixture ( Red Loctited like Crazy ) so that you can't take it apart and service the damn thing!!! For a component that is stressed like it is and with so many moving parts it seems pretty lame for Arctic Cat to make the thing impossible to replace each and every part for wear over time. Oh well.......I suppose it sells clutches.........

Blew another, brand new clutch, manufactured in august 2011. spider made it 400-500 miles. I even lightened up weights and springs so it would last longer. Good thing I had a spider sitting in my garage.
All three sides look just like this one.

2010 m8 around 1340 miles spider broke all 3 end from the nut out on saturday. I figure common wear and tear for a Arctic cat, but if it was a Polaris I would be shocked, Polaris clutches just last and stay together better
