Yep, I use one very similar, by far the best I have used, you can get two hands in there for those stubborn springs at awkward angles.

I use a weldin rod make a hook in one end and a t on the other...coat hanger is too flimsy...make them long or short..never bust a knuckel...all my buddies carry one in there backpacks

I use a piece of 12/14ga electrical wire,18" long, folded in half, hold the 2 ends and hook the loop around the spring and pull. Also makes for an easy tool to carry along on the sled!

Wps has a small cheapie made by SPI. Small and light, great for throwing in your backpack. Iirc they cost around $5

Snap on makes a really nice headlight spring tool that works great for exhaust springs. They make two different lengths; the one shown is the shorter of the two.
