I've been wonder the same thing. How is this going to affect the approach angle? Good idea or not?

Bad idea. It's been attempted. Much easier/cheaper/better to just buy an Axys sled. Do a thread search on this.

Moving the skid down will require anti-stab wheels, but it'll still trench badly.

what if you dropped the front arm to the assault hole and bought some drop brackets for the rear, pick up a set of assault rails with the more curved up rail tip and I think your in business.

Makes for a bad approach angle. To do it right you need to do a drop and roll
