how do they exactly work
my check engine came on and i hooked it up to a computer and it said it was the exhaust valve solenoid so i took it off and cleaned it up and put it back on cleared the code and went out and rode it for a bit the light never came on
then i shut it off for a while and went back to ride it some more and it came back on and has no bottom end its like the valves open manually like the edges
what usually goes out on them

How did you hook your sled to a computer???

The exhaust valve solenoid closes at 6800-7200 RPM allowing pressure to build in the valves and opening them. The ECU looks for 15 ohms from the solenoid to see if it is there.

If it says your solenoid is bad, check the wires and check for 15 ohms on the solenoid.

Did you check the wiring to the solenoid? Did you check for 15 ohms?

I would like more information on how your neighbor's computer is set up!

Where did he get the cable and the software to talk to the ECU?

Thanks,

Idaho Bill
