My M 1000 is an insane beast.

I know the new sleds are twenty times better. But I have an m1000 that I paid 4200.00 for. It came with a aftermarket pipe that just didn't work. I took it off and kept the Y pipe and lightweight can. Sold the SLP skis and pipe for $500.00. So I have a $3700.00 sled with bark buster front end, fox floats and lightweight mesh hood. I changed the weights to 70 gram in my three tower clutch and run factory ti clutch springs. Dialed in the boondocker box and this engine is a beast. So if your not living in the $14000.00 sled range, and want to have a very capable mountain sled consider an m1000. You won't be sorry.

But it doesn't have any skis or a pipe. I doubt it really rides that well. :D

Ya, it came with all the stock parts. I have a factory hood that looks like it was pulled off in the showroom hanging on the garage wall. The lightweight hood is ugly as hell but I'm growing to like it every time I bounce it off a branch or tree.

Well that sounds like a sweet 3700 dollar sled then :D

I've always been jealous of the torque of those things.

Was it a full SLP pipe set or mismatched stuff with a SLP Pipe

I ran a full SLP pipe set on my M1000. and it worked extremely well, So I can't imagine A Slp Pipe not working on a m1000 unless it was a mismatched set of pipe's

Sorry for the misunderstanding. It wasn't an SLP pipe. I really don't want to mention the pipe brand because I'm pretty sure the setup was so messed up when I got the sled that it wasn't the pipes fault the sled ran like crap. I rode with the guy I bought the sled from and we all kept telling him that his sled hadn't run right since he bought that pipe. The factory pipe works great though.

Try a 1000 on boost! I also hope your pulling more then 70 grams! I rode myn at 10,000ft and pulled 75s bone stock and 80s with pipe and stuff! 1000,s are pretty sweet WHEN there running!

We ran 78-80 grams at 12k+... if you're running 70 at ANY elevation, you should look into your setup, there's a TON being left on the table right now.

Thanks for the heads up. I went up from 67s to 70s and no change in RPMs. It just pulls harder now. I heard these sleds can take a ton of clutch weight. At what point do you start pinching the belt too hard and blowing belts? I've only rode this sled about 10 times. My boys keep making fun of me calling it old school, but I told them I'm keeping it until I get the setup right and show them what a big block can do. I bought the sled from my oldest son. I really want to show him how much performance he left on the table. Both of my sons have XM's now.

What alt you at & what is done to it... I'm betting we could help you get even more out of that thing. The 1000 is a great sled, you can lose weight easy, and make big power just as easy.

For $1200 you can make a 1000 into a lightweight beast.

It has A diamond S hood. Barkbuster front end. Fox floats. 2007 rear skid. y pipe and lightweight can. Boss seat. boondocker programmer. two wheel kit in rear of skid. Factory pipe. I ride 3000 to 6500 feet.

Is this a three tower or four tower drive clutch? What set up is in the driven clutch. Helix angle, spring, torsional or compression? what kind of rpm are you seeing? If this is really a three tower clutch with 70 gram weights at that altitude it must run like a bad running 600.:face-icon-small-sho
