Are all 2013 summits and up based on the XM chassis?

No - the 15 carbed Summit is still XP, although it has T-Motion.

Freerides are XM-RS chassis - stiffer, more bracing or something.

I'm FAIRLY certain you could not/cannot buy a carb'd XM. They're all ETEC.

more particular wondering about the 800 with the p-tek engine? How about the freeride?

In 2013 summit sport is xp chassis as well was the freeride. The freride got the xm chasis in 2014. And yes you can still get a carbed 800 summit sport in 2015 with xp chasis but it has s36 front end and t-motion in only 146/154

All 08-15 are in the same chassis.

Different plastic is all.

REALLY? So is really just suspension changes that make the XM that much better than the XM platform? A lot of people didn't like the XP as they felt t didn't hold a side hill all that great. In contrast, most RAV about the XM platform and its abilities to perform in the steep and deep.

Thanks for any info!

Handling boils down to.

Narrower side panels.
Tmo
Flexedge
Post forward.
Ergo's

A bunch of changes for sure but same chassis.

The summit sport is a great value.
Lighter than the etec.

Yes, same chassis since 08, however lots of refinements to suspension, skids and steering that entirely change the handling and characteristics.

The differences in the 15 ptek and 15 etec are essentially ski spindles and plastics. Otherwise skid, a arms shocks etc is the same. The sport model is a great sled for a great value. Just doesn't look as cool as the xm.

So in theory if you already have added post forward, foot well mods, T-motion, flex edge, and S-36. All you would need to change would be the spindles and it would handle like a XM?

Thanks guys, good to know. I erronously assumed the XM had some major tweaks to the chassis, kind of like from the REV to the XP.

Found a 13 Sport for $5200. Good deal? 26oo miles.

if you ride the xm and the sport you would think they are totally different.
