Same formula... divide the ratio by .92....

With Kurts kit at 2.41÷.92=2.62

So your realized ratio would be 2.62:1... pretty steep IMO... Target 2.35:1 to 2.45:1
would be ideal.

.

Ok, so with a 7t/3.0pitch/X3 track/stock gearing giving me approx. 2.27....how do you calculate which gear down kit to order to put you at about a 2.40 final realized ratio?

DIVIDE the gear-down-kits-mfg stated ratio by .92

Example...

2.09/.92=2.27:1 realized drive ratio

2.41/.92=2.62:1 realized Drive Ratio.

2.17/.92=2.36:1 realized Drive Ratio.

2.25/.92=2.45:1 realized Drive Ratio.

Yes, 2.45 is where I want to end up---ish.

Are you saying to purchase the 2.25 ratio gear down to get to a realized 2.45?

you can run 20/46 with a 74p chain if the chain is stretched
like run with a 19 top gear for a bit or whatever then you don't have to
have such a big dog leg
thanks TRS:face-icon-small-hap
actually i got mine on with all new parts but it was tight

I believe Kurts offers a gear down kit that is not quite as low as their popular 2.41 kit. Does anyone know what the ratio of this kit is?, and it sounds like it might be a better pairing with the 7 tooth drivers.

Ok, their other kit is 2.36 so with 7 tooth drivers that would still be too low at 2.57

I believe 19/51 with 7 tooth drivers. I'm running 19/49 with 8 tooth drivers. The drive belt goes out to all of the primary except the last .625". I might be geared a little too high for what I do. I went to the 49 to get a hyvo chain.

So if I put that into the formula above that comes out to a 2.92 final drive ratio? Sounds low, but I expect that what it takes to turn that much track.

Thoughts??

Stock Ski Doo T3 (19/51)is with a 7 driver. That's 2.68. With 19/49 and 8 tooth driver it drops to 2.38.

I have a tki gear down kit and it's a 2.25 ratio with the seven tooth 3 pitch driver puts me at right around a 2.40 ratio with seems perfect in my
Opinion ( that's on a pro )
