both batteries are dead & will not take a charge after sitting for the off season any ideas !!

You will have to get a new battery.They also make a pack yoou can put aa batterys in.
I bought mine on Ebay.

I bought replacements batteries & it fixed the problem ,but one battery is only 1 year old the other is 2 years old ,you would think they would last longer than that for $65 a piece

I had the same problem. The battery went dead over the summer and would not take a charge.

That is a problem with lipo batteries if allowed to drain bellow a certain voltage they will not take a charge. I recommend charging them for storage.
I just went through this myself. i bought a replacement rechargable and the aa battery pack just incase.

I just got mine out and checked and it is dead and won't take a charge either.
You would think for the price of them they would be tougher than that.

If you shop hard you can buy a new Lithium Ion battery pack for $49.99
Thats about the best I have seen out there.
But the key to keeping them alive is to store them with a 100% charge, and then pull them out every few months and make sure they are topped off.
