How are you gona save 12lbs without putting a 09 gearbox? And thats gona be pretty expensive...
What is the big gain with this compare to stock 08 reverse?
The 08 shift mecanism weights only about 2-3lbs...
Do any know the diffrent weights of the boxes?
05-06, 07-08, 09-10 and bdx boxes?
I can messure the a 07 box if some of you can messure the rest??
http://bd-xtreme.com/bdxdiamondlited...1-1-1-1-1.aspx
This will save 9lbs on a 07 and 2 lbs/09...

This is right from the BDX website:
"New for 07' - UP M's and Crossfire is our Diamond Lite Drive system that takes off a true 11 lbs (07'-08') 4lbs (09') of unwanted weight."
The BDX lite gear box looks very simillar to the 05/06 M7 gear box. It's a LOT smaller than the huge mech reverse gear box. your not only saving weight by removing the shift mechanism, but all the reverse pieces INSIDE the gear box (many of which are rotating parts), plus you have to run the billet driveshaft from BDX as well, which saves even more weight.
It's good mod that's not that pricey if you can sell your stock gear box for $300 to $400.
I see no reason to do this mod if you have an 09.

but buy the time you spent the money upgrading it and putting reverse on it youd have close to 1500 in to it with 20 less horsepower

What are you guys doing if you can’t afford the DD lite? Are you just stripping the servo adding a helix and letting the dd run backwards?

Ye..but you need the bdx shaft to save 11lbs and 4lbs...
And that shaft saves you 2 lbs... that means 9 ad 2 lbs to save.....
I bearly se any reason for this el.revers mods at all.
I did put on a lightweight hood and saved 20lbs.
Again what is the big gain with this el.revers kit??
You dont even get 1 more hp at the track.

Wait until your stock DD grenades, then you might understand. The mechanical reverse is junk and will eventually go out. Aside from being lighter and stronger it also gives a guy a good excuse to regear.

You can do that on a 07-08 also, you have to lock up the track anyway to get it into the reverse...But I dont like this kind of manuver..it feels wrong..lol..

I personally don't use reverse for down hill descents but the 09 and up electronic reverse will work going down hill but they have a rev limiter and I don't believe the 08 and under have one.

If you hit rev going down hill on a 09 it rev limits at 4000rpm, and burns the belt. the secondary wont engage on the 09 in rev so if it rapped any higher it would over engage the primary and not the secondary causing it to stretch or blow the belt. and if you do the E reverse on the 08 the oil pump doesn't work in reverse and if you really got on it you could risk blowing the motor. In other words its a bad idea. I did it once because I had no other way down, it did not work for beens and wound up in a tree.
