I was thinking about puting some hand guards on my 05 M7 and was wondering which ones work the best. I still have the stock bars on and would like to see how poeple are setting them up on these bars. Anybody willing to share a pic of theirs with me? Thanks.

Don't have any pics but go to your nearest A/C dealer and buy the mounts for your 05 and they will bolt right up nice and neat. then install the handguards of your choice.

I use powermadd handguards on my sleds. The second pic shows the distance from the guard to the bars pretty well. They have been very durable and I will contunue to use them on my future sleds.

Have had the same question. Have handguards but I can't mount 'cause my goldfinger lefty mount gets in the way. Do the Cat mounts leave enough room for the lefty mounts?

I normally hate hand guards, they always seem to be in the way when I get stuck. I saw these on sale for 50% off so I thought I would give then a shot this season. I like them because they attach w/ velcro so you can take them off when playing then throw them back on for the trip back to the truck.

They're Skinz hand guards and retail for about 40 bucks, no mounts needed.

I am also running the power madd guards and love them. I cant speak for the factory cat mounts.
I did have powermadd guards AND a lefty for a while before i toke the lefty off at through it into the lake.

you cant have the bars to far forward if you have fullsize windsheild, or they will hit it, my dad had that problem, they would get the bottoms knocked back, and when you went for the brake, you got a handful of guard, so, either shorten winshield, or bars a tad less then vertical.

The cat mounts bolt to the front of the throttle and brake housings. They do not clamp to the bars, so you can still put a lefty on. I use the Acerbis guards.

here are some pics of mine, the only thing i dont like is they wont let my Left handed throttle pull open all the way, i think i need to do some trimming, get rid of the lefty throttle or get rid of the hand gards.

getting rid of the lefty throttle seems like a better idea, i never use that thing

Thanks for the replies fellas. Sounds like I'm gonna roll with the Powermadd hand guards with the Cat mounts. A guy that I ride with tells me that his hands stay warmer with hand guards installed. It makes for a long ride back to the truck if you have got cold mitts so I think that I'll give it a try!

maybee383, with that big windshield do you even really need handguards? Doesn't look like much of the handguards aren't covered by the windshield...

your right i really dont need them but they came on the sled when i bought it. i put a 3" riser on it last week so now they do stick up a bit further so i think they will come in handy this year.
