My buddy sold his 05 M7 162 with twin pipes. Was gonna go Doo but got talked out of it. He can't decide between these two sleds. Both are new and have 162 tracks. Do you notice the extra weight of the 1000? Will the M8 need alot to be comparable to the m7 twin pipe performance? The 8 is 8200.00 the 10 is 10,500.00 Thanks

If they're both 162" sleds, I would get the 1000...The thing is a point & shoot tractor that's nearly unstoppable.
You'll never question adequate track speed with the 1000, but I will say having an M7 as well, the 1000 likes the petrol!
We will be breaking in my brother's new M8 this weekend, he went with the 153" - nice combination...

I think it depends on your size.

that allways makes me laugh.does that mean big fattys shouldnt get a 1000?:) haha
anyway yes you notice the extra weight.but that dont matter to me.the 800 is a little more zippy but the 1000 feels like it has twice the horses.

You seem like a nice guy.

I am a big boy and I am truly happy with my m8 I ride with guys with m1000s and they do have more power. I don't have to be the himark guy'
I'm too old and too fat. but I can ride with those guys and don't get left to far behind.
so to conclude; my m8 with mods,pipe-y-pipe,boss seat, simmons skis, riser and soon a can and 08 rear suspension upgrade cost me less than a stock m1000.
it is lighter,it is set up the way I like it, no fuel box needed. and will take me everywhere I got balls enough to go

however one of the m1000 guys is going to take it as far as he can without race gas and I think he's going to be making some real power.
they are both impressive sleds without a doubt

Thanks guys for all the input. He bought an 08 M8 162 today. He wants the lighter handling in the trees and will add a pipe to get the prf. up. Can wait to run my dragon against it before it's piped. I want to beat it!!!!!!!!!
