We Love Elevation (Read: Mountains)

News

We went out on a fact-finding mission Thursday. Bottom line was we were trying to find out how deep the snow was in one of our backyards: Bone, ID.

Turns out, not so much down low, say about 5,500 feet. But gain a couple thousand feet and it wasn't too bad. We got into some decent snow and even played off-trail, albeit a bit gingerly as the snow wasn't deep enough snow to completely bury the fallen logs, stumps and rocks.

We started out at Dan Creek, went to Skyline Ridge (pretty bare on top where the wind has scoured the ridgetop clean) and over to Commissary Ridge and then Brockman before heading back to the truck.

At the end of the 60-mile plus ride we would have to say mission accomplished.
