The Deschutes National Forest closed central Oregon's Dutchman Sno-Park's snowmobiling
access last weekend, citing early snow melt. Dutchman Sno-Park is located near Mt. Bachelor
on the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway.
According to a news release, the closure is earlier than
normal; often snowmobilers can access high country from Dutchman Sno-park
through Memorial Day weekend.
Closures take place when snow levels drop to below 12 inches
and continue until enough snow falls again in the winter.
